I’m looking at testing the new developments that Magento plan to release in version 4, but I need a few sizable databases to test the new speeds etc with.
My own test bases generally range up to 1000 products, 30 attributes. So if anyone has higher and wishes to help-out by lending me their database (full gzipped/7zip/rar please) I’ll be able to thoroughly test out the new indexing queries, speed, size. Basically benchmark and report back if its going to make your life better/worse or make no difference at all.
If your interested drop me a mail at pcdevils[ at ]gmail.com
I wont use or release data passed or disclose your data to anyone else and will destroy said databases on completion (as to be fair your shops are no use for me beyond testing).
Thanks
Chris
Yes, yes it does. Well it sounds like you've got what you need. We worry about getting our database to you since we're now in full on holiday retail mode! Feel free to email me if you end up wanting it. Thanks for all your hard work on this major shortcoming of Magento!
Hi Zeke; I'll probably be testing the databases I've got this weekend; I'm about a month and a half behind where I'd planned on being but work always manages to get in the way of other work

Hey Chris,
If you're still looking for test databases, we have one with 27,000 products. Our only reservation is getting customer information removed. If we can do that, we'd be happy to let you use it for testing. If layered nav refresh is more efficient in 1.4 it would would make our lives much easier! Hopefully upgrading won't break our store.....
This is heroic work. Thanks, LOl. Though your questions were ignored, you have demonstrated what true accountability means.
